Co-Operative Animal Health began in 1966 as a small chemist shop, formed to provide a specialised service to the farming community.

Today with a turnover of over €17 million Co-Operative Animal Health, accounts for over 36% of all animal health products distributed in Ireland.

Co-Operative Animal Health’s headquarters are in Tullow, Co. Carlow. Our new, modern premises, consists of 25,000 square feet of storage space and 5,000 square feet of sales and administration area. In its sphere of activity CAHL provides an important link between the veterinary industry and the farming world. It must be recognised that farmers require access to cost-effective veterinary medicines in order to ensure a healthy animal population.

In 1998 CAHL’s subsidiary, Master Farm Nutrition merged with Preference Products to form the country’s largest supplier of animal nutrition products – Nutribio Ltd. Nutribio Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of CAHL and is the number one company in speciality animal nutrition in Ireland north and south.

Nutribio is based in Tivoli, Cork on a four and a half acre site. Nutribio is a leader in the animal health and nutrition industry especially horse products, precalvers, dairy cows, sheep, pigs, providing feed manufacturers, livestock producers and horse owners with the highest standard products on the market

AHD Animal Health Distributors
CAHL and United Drug PLC formed a joint venture and established Animal Health Distributors (AHD). The joint venture brings together Irelands leading veterinary medicine wholesaler and Irelands largest pharmaceutical distribution group to provide agency, pre-wholesaling and distribution services for veterinary manufacturing companies.
