AUTUMN
CALVING COWS
Research
has shown that there is a need for regular all-year round supplementation
of many trace elements, especially Iodine, Cobalt and Selenium. Pre-Calving
cows have a high requirement for Trace Element Supplementation.
Pre-Calver
Liquid is specifically designed for dairy cows and suckler cows. The
aim is to help prevent the many trace element deficiencies which may
develop when the cow is in calf.
Magnesium
5.0% w/w
Copper 2,500 mg/L
Cobalt 100 mg/L
Zinc 2,500 mg/L
Iodine 500 mg/L
Selenium 35 mg/L
Pre-calver Liquid is supplied to the animal, like the Flowtrace Liquid
Trace
Elements, via a proportioner pump connected to the water supply. Assuming
a
water intake of 20 litres per day, the proportioner pump should be set
at 1% to
achieve an intake of 200ml/cow/day. Alternatively, the product may be
supplied
using a single trough dispenser.
Precalver
liquid should be made available a minimum of 6 weeks before the onset
of the calving season.
